The Fairchild Farm & Mercantile is truly a family affair. Ron & Suzanne Fairchild, together with their six children, all work together to create Fairchild Farm Handmade Goat’s Milk Soaps.
“Our Maggie and Jess help bag our soaps, Tedd loves to cut the yarn that ties it too. Our son Levi cuts soap and the other girls help pop them out of molds, stack, computer work, some small shows and so much more,” says Suzanne. “We all milk the goats for this soap before school and right before dinner for 5 months out of the year.”
The family farm is located on the Minnesota / South Dakota border, and initially sold wool from their Southdown sheep. “Then, one fateful day, the kids and I decided to use some of our goat’s milk to make soap as a 4H project. And the rest is history as we evolved once more to make soap and wool products full time.”
For spring, we are introducing members to the Fairchild Farm & Mercantile staple: the Handmade Goat’s Milk Soap in assorted scents. This super-hydrating foamy soap is made from the farm’s own goat milk. The goat’s milk serves as a gentle cleanser that is rich in fatty acids that can help support a healthy skin barrier to keep skin nourished and moisturized.
